Back to the keel.
Having knocked off all the surplus epoxy with the planer I gave it a light sanding.
Then I marked out the position of the keel plugs and started boring the holes . It takes a lot of power to drive a 32mm flat bladed bit into plywood. My battery powered drill couldn't cope so I had to resort to 240v.
Next the plugs are bonded in.
Trimmed and sanded flush.
Finally the edges of the keel are rounded off to help with glassing. Something I learned from refurbishing my oars.
